3/29 Wake Up and Go

I am back to waking up at 430 am for three days straight. You just have to have the will power and mindset to not roll back over in morning after hitting the snooze button. Wake up and Go! I have so many ideas running through my mind. They do not mean diddly squat until I take action. I am sitting here trying to figure out which ones are worth putting action behind, which ones might be worth it and which ones are just ideas.

    • How to Resist Temptation
      1. Proverbs 7:21-27. Tempted to cheat
        • Beware of persuasive words – be careful about what you listen to and read
        • Avoid foolish actions – thoughts and words lead eventually to action
        • Control straying thoughts – temptation often starts in our hearts
      2. Luke 3:23-4:13. Tempted over control
        • Instant gratification – leads to disillusion, emptiness and despair
        • Selfish ambition – material prosperity may lead to authority and splendor, but the danger in financial security becomes our ambition and we put our trust in wealth and not in God
        • Presumptuous power – rather than coming up with your own plans and asking God to bless them, seek to find out God’s plans and obey his calling
      3. Numbers 11:4-13:25. Tempted to Compare
        • Discontent – there is always something to complain about; comparing past life experiences to today; if we have eyes to see it, we are constantly surrounded by God’s goodness, mercy, forgiveness, love and grace
        • Jealousy – comparing and being jealous when you see God using other people in a powerful way
        • Pride – thinking too much of ourselves, comparing others and thinking we are better; pride is the biggest barrier between God and humans; humility

    • Where The Determination Is, The Way Can Be Found
      • The debts are thine enemies in this matter
      • If you have the soul of a slave (to society, to your debts) you will give up and die slowly
      • If you have the soul of a free man, you will repay your debts and bring happiness to your family
      • The soul of a free man looks at life as a series of problems to be solved and solves them, while the soul of a slave whines
    • Plan from one of the men in Babylon that will lead him out of debt and into self-respect
      1. Provide for future prosperity
        • 1/10 of all I earn shall be set aside as my own to keep
      2. Support the family (wife, children, etc.)
        • 7/10 of all I earn shall be used to provide a home, clothes to wear and food to eat; have a bit extra to spend so that life is not lacking in pleasure and enjoyment
        • Must live upon this portion and never use more nor buy what I may not pay for out of this portion
      3. Debts shall be paid
        • 2/10 of all I have earned will be divided fairly among all those who I am indebted
