This is the first post I have been able to write about since last Friday. My wife and I traveled to Indiana to visit family and become the God parents for our 5 month old baby niece Vera. It was a short lived visit and trip, but it was great to see the family and play with all the kids. We flew out of Houston at 10 a.m. Saturday morning and landed in Cincinnati at 1 p.m. local time. We then drove 4 hours north up into Indiana and arrived at my family’s house at 5 p.m. local time. We spend the rest of the afternoon catching up with the family, playing with the kids and eating dinner. Sunday morning we woke up at 6:30 a.m. and went to the church for the baptism.
The rest of Sunday was spent with the extended family having lunch and playing with the kids once again. I played basketball and football with my nephews, which was my only exercise the whole weekend. After the kids went to bed, my wife and I left shortly after to begin our drive to the airport in Cincinnati. We arrived in Cincinnati shortly after 3 a.m. Initially, we were going to take a nap in the rental car until the rental store opened and then sleep in terminal. Neither of those two options panned out well for us. Our flight was supposed to leave at 7:30 a.m. and arrive in Houston at 9 a.m. local time, however our plane was delayed over an hour. My wife was able to nap on and off throughout the flight. I dozed off several times for about 5 minutes at a time. Upon arrival in Houston, we went straight home before I had to go to work immediately. In conclusion of the trip, by the time I made it home Monday night and went to bed I had been up for forty hours straight. Surprisingly, I wasn’t dead tired and I am in pretty good shape today as well.
I have not worked out since last Friday, minus the basketball and football on Sunday with the nephews. Work is crazy this week due to school starting and I do not see myself fully recovering from this past weekend until next week. I am dying to get back into the groove and get going with the training and diet programs based on my goals. After a busy summer full of traveling and fun I am ready to be more grounded to home so I can push myself harder towards my fitness goals. I also hope to have more time to work on education and business ideas.
